Training 24/7 The Life of a Triathlete
We created this video which cronicles my training for St. Croix 70.3 starting in November 2007. I knew in February I would be giving a talk to some elementary school students to introduce them to triathlon, sports nutrition and what it means to have faith in yourself and your dreams. This video really brought my training to life for them. Not only did the kids love the video, I can now say it was all worth it. I traveled to St. Croix in May of 2008 and placed first in my age group of 25-29 females. I qualified and competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships on October 10, 2008. I was blessed to have a great day and in my first ironman I finished in a time of 10 hours 58 mins, 9th female in the world in the 25-29 age group. As a registered dietitian, I now have my own Sports Nutrition Counseling business called Fuel Your Passion. If you would like to contact me please go to my website www.fuelyourpassion.net. You can also follow my blog at www.fuelyourpassiononline.blogspot.com. I offer nutrition counseling for athletes, as well as coaching services. Please check out my Kona Video for a follow up to this video! Take care and best of luck in your future endevors!

good luck in kona!
Lovely video.. I will be watching this regularly until my first olympic tri. It’s always inspiring to see committed, talented athletes who also work full time. Thanks for posting.
@kimberlysbi Congratulations on qualifying!

Really inspiring thanks for sharing.
Some people say, “Who gives a healthy shit? I’d rather smoke, drink, and eat vast quantities of rich foods. And lounge, enjoying watching movies.” YEAH!
@TheLakemann.. hey.. this world takes all kinds. No one way is better than another. I’d just like to live to be 90 feeling good, healthy and strong.. so, that’s my choice! Yours may be different! no worries!
give me the money to train and I would win the whole thing. you rich people just float in life.
@rickypateful its too bad you feel that way. I’m certainly not rich. I just scape by and don’t spend money on other things so I can have enough to train and race. No reason to be a hater my friend!
You are freaking awesome!!!! Congrats on making it to Kona!!! This video is an inspiration to me. I am turning 30 this year and my goal is to do an Ironman by 35. A friend of mine went to Kona last year after winning 1st in her age group in Florida… she was 40. Maybe one day I will be in Kona
I watch this clip all the time. I think your amazing. I do triathlons myself. I’m going to do an ironman next year.
So inspirational! I’m doing my first ever tri in July and I’ve only just learnt how to swim, keep having moments when I think I’ll never finish, might as well give up. Your video makes me feel I can do anything
So, in your first Ironman, eight women trained harder than you, or wanted it more than you.
@traitor88 Fuckin’ A, Bubba. My sentiments exactly. And don’t forget smoking and lounging.
@kxd185 Exactly! Depends upon genetics. All of my ancestors lived into their 90s or older. It’s all a crapshoot, buddy. Just remember that Jim Fixx, the author of The Complete Book of Running, dropped dead… while running! Rock on.
@kimberlysbi
holy cow, i had see your video many times and wonder if you had qualify, very happy to know all your efforts are being rewarded by racing at even that only few are allow… congrats

Loved this video. Love your dedication.
@cosg9531 or perhaps they were slightly more talented or more experienced. She said it herself, she might not be the most talented athlete (same goes for me), but win, lose, or tie, she will always train and perform like a champion. And that is how she will reach her goals and dreams.
All I can say is WOW! I used to be relatively fit and then sort of lost it when I was going through college and had kids. Now I am trying to get some of it back by starting a running program. This video is so inspiring! I think I will be back to see it again soon.
Incredible and strong lady!!!
best thing for swimmers is CITRUAID, recommended by gold medalist in swimming Sheila Taormina
What do you do for work kimberlyysbi?
this is the most inspiring tri video ever! I hope we meet some day at some ironman race. My best regards from Greece!
